THE GANG’S ALL HERE

nick Nick Moreton:

Nick is the oldest of the gang and brings to the table all of his “knowledge” after touring and releasing records with several outfits. Probably best known for his time in Leicester band Have A Go Hero, his bad experience of the “music industry” in that band directly drove him to start Brave Or Invincible in an effort to give artists a better deal.

FUN FACT: Before records began, Nick was a world famous magician, going by the name of “The Great Moretini”. His most famous trick was when he swapped the Eiffel Tower with the Statue of Liberty in front of the audience’s eyes. For this trick he used only mirrors, rohypnol and a charter plane from Paris to New York.

ryan Ryan Smith:

Ryan is an experienced musician having performed and toured in several bands, most notably in Sheffield band Pirouettes. Within the label Ryan looks after A&R and bookings, and is somewhat of a ninja when it comes to ideas and such – he regularly will tell Nick that his idea is a “bit far-fetched” but does it in such a lovely way that it never ends in violence.

FUN FACT: Being the most Northern man alive, Ryan has a very sweet tooth. If he ever offers you some ‘Beans On Toast’ do not be surprised to receive what amounts to a bag of skittles emptied over two slices of kendal mint cake.

chris Chris Williams:

Chris is a master of marketing and promotion. He has years of experience promoting for a well known UK dance company and has marketing ideas coming out of every single hole in his body. Chris is brilliantly enthusiastic and switched on. Unless he’s tired. If he’s tired he’s completely useless.

FUN FACT: At the age of 79, Chris will get his old trusty trumpet out of the loft and, in a heartbreaking rendition, will play the Hymn ‘Jerusalem’ as he silently ponders the regrets that he holds from his life. The biggest regret of course being that he never learned to play the trumpet.

callum Callum Joynes:

Callum is our press guy. He was roped into this because once he said he’d quite like to be a journalist so we took advantage of that and lumped all press related stuff onto him. He seems ok about it though, at the very worst he’s only silently resenting us. Callum has a keen ear for music and will often find an excellent band from the far corners of the outer hebrides that no one else has ever heard of. This is why we love him.

FUN FACT: Callum’s great, great, great grandfather, Winston Joynes, was the first man to cross the Atlantic using a pedal bike. This would have been the Joynes’ family’s greatest achievement were it not for Winston’s father, Gerald, who singlehandedly defeated the Roman empire armed with only a compass and his razor sharp wit.

Chris Moore Chris Moore:

Alan Shearer OBE, DL (born 13 August 1970) is a retired English footballer.

He played as a striker in the top level of English league football for Southampton, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United and for the England national team. He is widely considered as one of the greatest English strikers of all time, being both Newcastle’s and the Premier League’s record goalscorer. After retiring as a player, Shearer worked as a television pundit for the BBC. Toward the end of his playing career, Shearer worked towards gaining the UEFA Pro Licence, and expressed a desire to eventually become a manager. In 2009 he briefly left his BBC role to become Newcastle United’s manager in the last eight games of their 2008–09 season, in an unsuccessful attempt to save them from relegation.

FUN FACT: On 7 December 2009 Shearer was made a Doctor of Civil Law by Newcastle University. Chancellor Sir Liam Donaldson stated “Newcastle United are my team. Alan Shearer is more than just a local legend, he’s probably one of the greatest footballers of all time”
